shooting stars

closing my eyes
making my wish
wondering maybe if;
maybe if, you saw it
you'd wish the way i do
hoping that we wish the same
and that maybe if we knew
we could make them happen for one another
or not
but we could try
and yet, i fight those feelings
because maybe if i told you
my wish wouldn't come true
at all
or ever...
wouldn't want that either
so i close my eyes...
make my wish;
wishing upon
shooting stars
the meteors that burn
against the dark sky...
hoping that
or hoping for
a wish could manifest
into something more...
tangibly
something i can see
like these shooting stars
staring back at me...
