this rollercoaster

the gates have opened
we hopped in
side by side
heads back, buckled up
they checked us...
we started this ride
closed eyes
clutched fists
i felt us moving
gears shift...
climbing this railing
i can hear the cart click
i peeked out
lord knows i'm afraid of heights...
but i decided to take this ride
with you...
this rollercoaster
still rising...
feelings fluttering
we reached the top...
and there's a pause...
but now i'm feeling unsure
i don't think i was ready for this
now were flying
face first
can no longer see where we're going
up and down
going through loops
feel like screaming
but the sound never reaches my lips
i feel the wind
head pounding
these amounts of pressure i was not ready for
drop after drop
turn after turn
and though i know what's going to happen
i am never prepared enough...
and then my heart stops
its over now
this rollercoaster...
