friendships...

so...
i got a request to address
FRIENDSHIPS

and how odd is it that someone asked me to do so
being that i've been discussing many of my own lately
what a coincidence... MR/MR[s]. Anonymous (i wonder who it could be...)

anywho...

first i'd like to state what a friend or a friendship is...
that is probably where the most confusion happens.

dictionary.com states

friendship: [noun]

1. the state of being a friend

a friend: [noun]

1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.

2. a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter

3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile

synonyms: comrade, chum, crony, confidant, ally, buddy, colleague, mate

patty.dré's response:
though all of the above is true, i tend to believe that a friendship constitutes more than just “hello, how are you” or “yea, i know her”

when i think of a friend… or my friends, for that matter, i see someone who is caring, supportive, loyal, helpful. someone I can trust and depend on, that i know will always be there for me…

further there are also different levels of friendship.

i.e. you have friends, good friends, best friends, etc.

or in other words, friends you’re “cool with,” “homeboys” and “homegirls” and/or your “ride or dies”

you have the friends you can talk to, the ones you can actually chill with, the ones you really open up to, who are in it for the long haul, the ones that won’t judge you, the ones that you will buy you lunch when you don’t got it, let you borrow a dollar with no strings attached, the ones that tell you like it is, because they know it’ll make you better…

he cared

held my hand when no one else was there

took the time to listen to what i had to share

had my back when i didn’t have the strength

even when it wasn’t asked

he went the extra length

made me smile

when i wanted to cry

told me i had a reason to live

when i wanted to die

always can count on him, til the very end

he believed in me

and i believed in

him

a friend

so cheesy… i know

don’t judge me

thus said,

i’d like to say yay for interactive blogging… thanks mr. anonymous… =P

yay for friends… gotta love em…

tis all
